MADURAI: Rail tourism and passenger travel experience are getting a big leap between Madurai and Guruvayur thanks to the introduction of first-ever Vistadome coach on Madurai-Guruvayur-Madurai Express (Train numbers 16327/16328).
“This is a significant milestone for Southern Railway. The Vistadome coach will be attached to these two trains on a temporary trial basis. It is an executive AC chair car that will give a great travel experience with expansive windows, viewing comfort, seats etc to the passengers,” a press release received from Madurai Division of Southern Railway has informed here today.
The Vistadome coach will be attached to the Madurai-Guruvayur Express train operating on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting from October 22nd 2026 to January 15th 2027. And for Guruvayur-Madurai train on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. This temporary trial basis from October to January.
“With the introduction of Vistadome Coach Executive AC Chair Car, the composition of coaches in this train will be: One Vistadome coach, one AC three-tier coach, 2 sleeper class coaches, 7 general second class coaches, 1 Divyangjan Firendly Coach and 1 lugagge-cum-brake van. The advance bookings for Madurai-Guruvayur-Madurai are open now,” the railway press release has said.
