MKU wants Vijay govt’s attention: MUFA greets new Hr.Edn.Minister and highlights financial difficulties of varsity for salaries, pensions

MADURAI: The Madurai Kamaraj University Faculty Association (MUFA) had today congratulated the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr.C.Joseph Vijay and Minister for Higher Education Mr.P.Viswanathan who won from Melur in Madurai district as Congress party candidate and became part of the government as an important Minister handling higher education.

In a press statement issued here on May 24th 2026, the association has appealed to the new Higher Education Minister Mr.P.Viswanathan to solve the financial difficulties being faced by MKU and how payment of salaries and pensions is getting delayed due to funds issue.

“We humbly request from MKU for measures to guarantee continuous and timely disbursement of salaries and pension. We also urge immediate issuing of promotion orders under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) for university faculty,” the MUFA has appealed in a statement signed by its president Dr.T.Arokiadoss, secretary Dr.C.Muniyandi and treasurer Dr.V.Shanmugaiah.

They expressed confidence that the new Chief Minister Mr.Joseph Vijay and Higher Education Minister Mr.P.Viswanathan will prioritize higher education institutions like and extend all support to resolve the pending issues.
