Dialysis machines donated to Usilampatti GH on May 21st 2026 by Rotary and SBI Mutual Fund.

MADURAI: Kidney patients in Usilampatti area in Madurai district will now have dialysis equipment support in their own place thanks to the gesture of donating four modern machines to Usilampatti Government Hospital through support from Rotary club and SBI Mutual Fund.

On May 21st 2026, dialysis equipment was donated to Usilampatti GH by the Rotary Club of Madras which was founded in the year 1938 as the first Rotary club in South India and this club had donated four modern dialysis machines to Usilampatti GH as a part of its several social service initiatives, according to a press release received from Rotary here today.

“SBI Mutual Fund has extended financial assistance for this service project through its CSR fund following an initiative taken by Rotary Club of Madras that had facilitated this support. The inauguration and commissioning ceremony of these dialysis machines took place yesterday evening at Usilampatti GH with the Cluster Head of SBI Mutual Fund Mr.Saravanan as chief guest,” the Rotary press release added.

This initiative was additionally supported by Rotary Club of Usilampatti, Rotary Club of Madurai, Rotary Club of Madurai West and Rotary Club of Madurai Meenakshi which have jointly contributed accessories to the medical equipment required for dialysis units.

“We in the Rotary are happy that dialysis treatment will be more accessible for people living in and around Usilampatti. Dialysis treatment facility will be available at either free or susbsidized cost in the GH,” the Rotary members said at the handing over ceremony of four dialysis units by Rotary Club of Madras at Usilampatti GH on May 21st 2026.

Past District Governor of Rotary International District 3000 Mr.Y.Kumanan was present along with senior Rotarians Mr.J.Sridhar, Mr.S.Ravi and Mr.R.Raja Govindasamy and the presidents of Rotary Clubs which supported in donating dialysis units including Mr.Nikhil Raj, president of Rotary Club of Madras who thanked SBI Mutual Fund for its Corporate Social Responsibility gesture.
