“Daily you must drink about minimum two and half litres of drinking water. Reduce salt in your daily food intake, reduce consuming of sweets and start drinking more water everyday. The health of your kidneys depends on your sugar level, salt intake and water intake. These are important in the context of rising summer heat, climate change, global temperature, dehydration levels and the environment toxins that are harming our kidneys cumulatively. These are the simple golden rules,” Dr.K.Sampathkumar, Head of Department and senior consultant nephrologist, Meenakshi Mission Hospital in Madurai, has said at a press meet here today- March 11th 2026.
