MADURAI: The All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO) has today expressed its complete solidarity and support to the February 12th 2026 nationwide general strike call given by Joint Coordination Committee of Central Trade Unions and independent trade unions in the country.
“This general strike is against the neo-liberal economic policies of the central government because of disastrous impact on workers, farmers, peasants, teachers, students and all marginalised sections of our country. So, we feel that the 12th February 2026 general strike is a warning to the present Central government to desist from anti-people policies. We appeal to all democratic minds of India to support this strike in order to Save Nation and Save Constitution,” AIFUCTO president Prof.Dr.M.Nagarajan and general secretary Prof.Dr.Arun Kumar have said in a press statement issued today.
The AIFUCTO has also pointed out in its press release that the present Union Budget 2026-27 is a takeover sign given to crony capitalists.
“Unilateral implementation of National Education Policy had destroyed our public funded education system. So, we express solidarity support to the general strike because we want the undemocratic labour code be scrapped and farmers must get a fair deal in India,” the AIFUCTO has said in its press release on February 7th 2026.
