MADURAI: The famous Tamukkam Ground in Madurai has turned into a shopping point for new year 2026 buyers as the three-day ‘Shopping Thiruvizha’ being organized jointly by Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Madurai Economic Chamber began here today morning with free entry and attractive prizes to the public through lucky draw.
Mr.V.Neethi Mohan, managing director, Vaighai Agro Products Ltd and chairman of Young Entrepreneur School (YES), had inaugurated the expo here today morning at convention centre in Tamukkam in the presence of Dr.N.Jegatheesan, president, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce along with chamber secretary Mr.S.Sridhar and members of the organizing committee.
“This is a three-day shopping festival in Madurai from today with 260 stalls. I specially thank the chamber secretary Mr.S.Sridhar and trade fair committee chairman Mr.Varadharajan for their untiring efforts along with members of Madurai Economic Chamber. The shopping festival will be there for next three days from December 27th to 29th,” Dr.N.Jegatheesan has said at the inauguration of trade fair at Tamukkam Ground in Madurai today morning- December 27th 2025.
Mr.V.Neethi Mohan had urged the business fraternity to make use of the opportunities that are available in the market in their respective fields.
“Don’t grudge always. There is a huge consumption story in India for retail trade. Shopping melas like these will create public awareness among the people that manufacturing, production and setting up of industries are also more important,” Mr.Neethi Mohan said.
