
MADURAI: Southern Railway Additional General Manager (AGM) Mr.Vipin Kumar had inspected the station redevelopment works which are in progress at Madurai Railway Junction yesterday-November 15th 2025.
Divisional Railway Manager Mr.Om Prakash Meena, Additional DRM Mr.L.N.Rao and Deputy Chief Engineer (construction) Mr.K.G.Gnanasekhar were among those present during the inspection after which he conducted a complete review meeting here yesterday based on his inspection at Ramesaram railway station and Pamban bridge also.
The top brass of Madurai Division including Mr.K.Hari Kumar, Chief Project Manager of Gati Shakti Unit and senior officials were present at the railway review meeting.
“During the review, the DRM had briefed the Additional General Manager on the Madurai Railway Division’s performance in the current financial year till now and about the progress of ongoing railway infra projects. From April to October, the division had handled 28.92 million originating passengers and the division currently operates 266 passenger-carrying services including 144 daily trains, 68 weekly trains, 20 bi-weekly, 14 tri-weekly etc. Freight loading has also improved by recording a 10.11 per cent increase up to October 2025 compared to the same period last year,” according to a press release received from Madurai Division here yesterday.
The Additional General Manager of Southern Railway Mr.Vipin Kumar has urged the railway officials at all levels to view every matter from customer’s perspective and told them to be sensitiove to passengers’ grievances / suggestions which are received through Rail Madad portal.
He is on a three-day visit to Madurai Division from November 14th to 16th, and today he will conduct a trailing window inspection between Madurai and Tirunelveli.
