Annamalai University teaching staff to boycott exam duty indefinitely from Nov 10th with sit-in protest in campus for their immediate demands

MADURAI: The Annamalai University Teachers’ Federation has announced a complete boycott of all examination related duties from November 10th 2025 in the varsity by going for an indefinite sit-in protest for the faculty’s genuine demands.

At the general body meeting of Annamalai University Teachers’ Federation (AUTF) held in Chidambaram on November 3rd 2025, a few important resolutions were passed with participation of nearly 300 teaching staff of the university after deliberating on long-pending issues faced the faculty of Annamalai University right now.

“Because of the urgency of our demands, the AUTF general body has resolved to start an indefinite sit-in protest and a complete boycott of all examination related duties from November 10th 2025. This will bring the university’s functioning to a standstill and affect the academic calendar of Annamalai University. We have a great responsibility for our students and hence we hope that our issues will be resolved to restore normalcy in Annamalai University campus,” Dr.C.Subramanian, AUTF convener and professor of political science at Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu, has said in a statement released to the media on general body meeting resolutions.

RESOLUTIONS PASSED:

Immediate disbursement of pending UGC 7th Pay Commission arrears and Ph.D incentives, immediate absorption of faculty members who are currently on deputation in their existing government collge departments, immediate filling of all vacant adminsitrative positions and replacement of staff who have completed their tenure, givig correct CAS promotions and monetary benefits to retired teachers on the date of superannuation on par with government employees are among the demands made by the Annamalai University Teachers’ Federation (AUTF) at its general body meeting held on November 3rd 2025, according to a press release received here today.
