MADURAI: India’s legendary cricket player M.S.Dhoni is coming to Madurai on October 9th 2025 to inaugurate the Velammal International Cricket Stadium here.
“On the 9th of this month, Dhoni will inaugurate the Velammal Cricket Stadium which was built at a cost of Rs.325 crores. The construction works are over and M.S.Dhoni is opening the cricket stadium in Madurai,” Mr.M.V.Muthuramalingam, founder-chairman, Velammal Educational Trust, has announced in Madurai today.
The Velammal Group chairman has said this while speaking at the inaugural function of Aurolab advanced eye drops manufacturing facility at Veerapanjan in Madurai on October 5th 2025 which was established by the management of Aravind Eye Care System in line with the Aravind Eye Hospital founder’s mission of affordable eye care for all.
According to Velammal Group sources, Mr.Dhoni will inaugurate the stadium at around 4 pm on October 9th 2025 at Velammal Anuppanadi campus here behind Velammal International School, and the seating capacity to start with is 5,000 seating capacity, and it will be expanded in future once the stadium gets into use.
