Learn multiple Indian languages: TN Governor urges youth at Telangana and West Bengal Statehood Day celebrations held in Chennai

MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar had stressed the importance of learning multiple Indian languages because language serves as a powerful bridge connecting people across regions in the country.

“Our youth especially must embrace linguistic diversity to expand their scope of opportunities and for our national integration. Respect for knowing more languages will deepen our national unity and develops interpersonal connections across States in India. It is a part of our renewed pledge for ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and Viksit Bharat mission along with Viksit Tamil Nadu,” he said while speaking at Telangana and West Bengal Statehood Day celebration held at Lok Bhavan in Chennai yesterday-June 21st 2026.

The TN Governor had felicitated eminent personalities from Telangana and West Bengal by saying that the State Foundation Day event provides a valuable opportunity to appreciate unique identities and contributions of people from these States.

“There were cultural performances highlighting the distinctive art forms and traditions of Telangana and West Bengal. Cultural artistes from these two States were felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Governor. Respect for linguistic diversity is for our national unity,” the press release from TN Governor’s Lok Bhavan in Chennai has informed yesterday.

Mr.Sajjansingh R.Chavan IAS, secretary to TN Governor and Prof.Dr.CMK Reddy, president, All India Telugu Federation, were among those who participated in the celebrations along with Mr.Prodyot Bowmick, president, South Madras Cultural Association, Mr.Bethireddy Srinivas, president, Kala Sudha Telugu Association and Dr.Subhra Biswas, president, West Bengal Association along with guests and students of Telangana and West Bengal.
