MADURAI: The Southern Railway has made it easy for the train passengers who want to travel by Vande Bharat Express trains to do current booking of their ticket in a hassle-free manner by bringing in a systemic improvement in ticket booking system with effect from July 17th 2025.
From now on, current reservations for eight Vande Bharat trains which are originating from Southern Railway can be done at enroute stations upto 15 minutes before the departure of that particular Vande Bharat train, according to a press release from Southern Railway yesterday.
“This facility was limited earlier, curtailing the passengers from booking from enroute stations once the train leaves source station. A new system is in place now, and vacant accommodations will now be made available for current booking of Vande Bharat at enroute stations. This will benefit the passengers and improve better occupancy of the VB train,” the press release has said while giving details about the modifications done in Passenger Reservation System from July 17th 2025 for eight Vande Bharat trains in Southern Railway.
The eight Vande Bharat trains are 20631 Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express, 20632 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Mangaluru Central VB express, 20627 Chennai Egmore-Nagercoilo Vande Bharat Express, 20628 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore VB express, 20642 Coimbatore-Bengaluru Cantt VB Express, 20646 Mangaluru Central-Madgaon VB Express, 20671 Madurai-Bengaluru Cantt VB Express and 20677 Dr.MGR Chennai Central-Vijayawada Vande Bharat Express train, the railway press release has informed.
