MADURAI: An emergency meeting of the Governing Council of The American College in Madurai will be held here on May 31st 2025. The agenda points for this include selection and appointment of new Principal for the college since the present Principal Dr.M.Davamani Christober is retiring from service with this month.
An official communication was sent to the governing council members by the Bishop and council president informing them about the emergency meeting. The agenda also includes appointment of Secretary of American College.
Sources told ‘Lotus Times’ media here today that 19 candidates had applied for the Principal post and shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection interview and it will be announced by the governing council at this emergency meeting taking place on May 31st 2025.
“All the applicants have been informed that they will be called for attending the interview by special committee only if their name is shortlisted as per UGC eligibility conditions for Principal post. There is a tough race this time and there are candidates from outside Madurai also who had applied in good number along with the American College senior faculty,” sources added on May 29th 2025.
