MADURAI: Tamil Nadu BJP State general secretary Prof.Raama Sreenivasan has today lashed out at the DMK and Congress Party of showing their ‘intellectual dishonesty’ in the issue of caste enumeration which was announced by the Union government a few days ago.
“What was the Congress party doing when it was in power for such a long period at the Centre and why Mr.M.K.Stalin was silent when he was an alliance partner with Rahul Gandhi? Why they did not do caste enumeration?,” the BJP leader had questioned while addressing a press meet at party office in Madurai today-May 3rd 2025.
He said that decision taken on April 30th 2025 in the meeting of Cabinet Committee for Political Affairs which was chaired by Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi has given total clarity on how the caste enumeration will be done along with the Census and it has now put a full stop to the politics being played out by parties like DMK and the Congress in this matter.
“What was done in Telangana was just like a sample survey. It was not a scientific methodology based enumeration. But, the decision now taken by our Modi government will be a fool-proof enumeration of castes done by including it along with the Census. Mr.Stalin is now talking about caste census, but why he did not do a caste census in Tamil Nadu when Telangana and Karnataka State governments went ahead with their decisions?,” Prof.Raama Sreenivasan had questioned today.
The BJP State general secretary has asserted that the caste census caste enumeration that will be done by the Modi government will be a thorough exercise that fulfils the aspirations of people belonging to various castes and it will give the people a clear picture with accurate data.
