SOUTH TAMIL NADU DEVELOPMENT: FORUM STARTS PUBLIC MOVEMENT (VIDEO 1)

MADURAI: A public movement involving various stakeholders, especially the medium and small scale industries. has taken shape in Madurai on August 7th 2018 Tuesday with a single goal – DEVELOPMENT of nine districts in southern Tamil Nadu – Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari districts.
 
This movement will be an exclusive forum bearing the name – Development Institute for South Tamil Nadu – and it will be the voice of the industry with focus on holistic socio-economic development.
 
The first meeting of this new forum was held under the auspices of prominent trade body MADITSSIA in Madurai. Strengths and weaknesses of south Tamil Nadu, industry and tourism potential, need for resource mapping, involving of higher education institutions in development initiatives and HOW TO GIVE A FACE LIFT FOR SOUTH T.N….etc were deliberated.

And for this development initiative, the BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan had extended guidance for participants at this preliminary meeting because the Tamil Nadu BJP is committed for overall progress and development of nine southern districts and was also included in its election manifesto of 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections        
 
“The grievances of people in south Tamil Nadu need to be addressed soon and there will be no second thought on that because this region was neglected by Governments for decades…….There are no big industries, no investments, no employment……Infrastructure is poor…..So, I see the idea of starting Development Institute for South Tamil Nadu as a continuation of our party’s manifesto and whatever best we can do will be done for the people.” Prof.Dr.Srinivasan had told the gathering.    
 
PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT:
 
 
Speaking along with MADITSSIA’s former president and industry expert Mr.KR.Gnanasambandan and others , the BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.Srinivasan had emphasized on the need for ‘ATTITUDINAL CHANGE’ among people about development.
 
“As responsible citizens, we all have a role to play…..Blaming government is not the solution……Through this new forum from Madurai today, let us make DEVELOPMENT A POPULAR PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT……This will be a common forum to take up issues with Central and State governments…..” Dr.Srinivasan observed.
 
GOOD DISCUSSION:
 
Among those who spoke and gave suggestions for South Tamil Nadu development include former president Mr.V.S.Manimaran and MADITSSIA secretary Mr.B.Muruganantham. Representatives from various associations and organisations took part in this maiden meeting on August 7th 2018 at MADITSSIA Hall.
