MADURAI: Mr.Daniel Vijayaraj, an old student of American College here who is presently based in UK, had written a letter to ‘LotusTimes’ media on April 3rd 2023 supporting the various works for institution development being done by the present college Principal and Secretary Dr.M.Davamani Christober.
(His letter comes following a news item published in LotusTimes about an appeal made last week by former Principal Dr.T.Chinnaraj Joseph Jaikumar urging the Madurai Kamaraj University Vice-Chancellor Prof.J.Kumar to remove the current Principal of American College Dr.Davamani Christober by stating various reasons). Dear Mr. Shastry Mallady,
I am Daniel from UK, one of the old student (batch of 1992-1995) of The American college Madurai. I had a chance to read your article today. It was nicely written, however I want to emphasize one thing here. This news item was carried about the views of our former Principal Mr. Chinnaraj Joseph. Being an old student of American college, I know both the principals. Mr. Chinnaraj Joseph was a principal but he doesn’t have principle where as Mr. Davamani Christopher has principles and he is proving it by developing the college extraordinarily. He developed the infrastructure of the college, increased the student strength and added more courses.
I was amazed to see the college development by Mr. Davamani Christopher. His outstanding support to students for their future plans has been highly appreciated. I did notice your concerns regarding his principal post in American college and his Syndicate membership in Madurai Kamaraj University. This principal position was given by the governing council but not taken by Mr. Davamani Christober. The syndicate membership he attained was through election. I feel he deserves both the positions.
I also noticed my former principal Mr. Chinnaraj Joseph’s concerns regarding Mr. Davamani Christober’s P.hD qualification. Just let you know I did witnessed his paper presentation in U.K based on his qualification.His presentation was highly appreciated by U.K university. I think Mr. Chinnaraj Joseph has envy on Mr. Davamani Christober. Even though he had retired from his service, he still trying to pull Mr. Davamani Christober’s legs at every chance. When Mr. Chinnaraj Joseph retired from his principal position, he refused to quit the college and made a big issue to hold his principal post even after his retirement. So I feel this issue clearly shows our former principal’s envy against our current principal Mr. Christober. Being an old student of American college, I would like to tell you that I have never seen a principal like Mr. Davamani Christober. He is not only a qualified principal but also a good human being. He outstandingly support his current students as well as old students. Who ever calls him, he answers his phone and fulfill students need. Finally, I don’t have any personal contact with Mr. Davamani Christober, but I am writing this letter for the goodwill of The American College.
I would highly appreciate you if you could publish my letter in your media. I am ready to give clarifications for any queries.
