MADURAI: S.A.Arul, chief executive and secretary of Voluntary Association for Peoples Service (VAPS) which is situated at Besant Road in Chokkikulam in Madurai, was presented with ‘Best Social Worker Award’ at a function held in Tiruchi yesterday-March 20th 2026.
The award was presented by Postgraduate and Research Department of Social Work of Bishop Heber College-Trichy in collaboration with Janet Hospital (P) Limited, Trichy at special event held in the college campus to commemorate World Social Work Day 2026.
“Mr.S.A.Arul was chosen for this award in recognition of his passionate commitment to professional social work and impactful service to the society for last 25 years through various initiatives like agri entrepreneurs, rural women livelihood etc. He got the award as social work practitioner in senior category,” according to a press release from VAPS today.
Dr.J.Princy Merlin, Principal, Bishop Heber College-Trichy, Dr.Victoria Johnston, obstetrician and gynaecologist, Janet Hospital-Trichy and Lt.Dr.F.Carter Premraj, assistant professor and Head, Department of Social Work at Bishop Heber College had felicitated VAPS chief for getting the award, the press release added.
