
MADURAI: A 11-day special package tour by Bharat Gaurav special tourist train is being organized by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) as ‘Jyotirlinga Yatra with Statue of Unity’ from April 25th 2026 to May 5th 2026.
This train tour covers important pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Gujarat including a temple visit to Somnath, and the package covers Ujjain, Dwarka, Somnath, Bhavnagar and Vadodara statue of unity, according to a press release from IRCTC here today.
“The package cost per person is comfort 3rd AC Rs.31,910. It is a 11-day Bharat Gaurva yatra train tour. Somnath temple in Gujarat is the first of 12 sacred Jyotirlingas and it is celebrating 1,000 years since the first major recorded attack by Mahmud Ghazni as per our history. Somnath is a symbol of resilience and India’s enduring faith and civilization. Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi had recently attended the 1,000-year celebrations at Somnath as a tribute to our unbroken faith and India’s self-respect,” a press release from IRCTC on March 17th 2026 has informed.
This special train SZBG 41 will start from Tirunelveli (origin point) on April 25th 2026 and goes via Tenkasi, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Palani, Pollachi, Podhanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai and Chennai Parambur, the press release has said.
The special features of this tourist train are train journey by 3AC class, AC accommodation, fresh up at destinations, AC road transfers, south Indian Veg meals, tour escort, and private security on train, two water bottles per day and travel insurance.
“Totally there will be 11 AC three tier coaches. Central/State Govt and PSU employees can avail LTC facility as per eligibility norms,” the press release added.
