MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has today launched a special orientation programme from Madurai for students of engineering and arts and science colleges through its structured sessions that will make them ready for a good career.

On 13th March 2026, SHARP 2.0 was started at an event held in chamber premises in the city to connect students with industry leaders, startup founders and technology experts from TN Chamber’s extensive network available in its SHARP forum.

Rev.Fr.Jegath Gaspar Raj, founder of The RISE Global, Mr.K.Purushothaman of Cognizant, Mr.G.Paul Ravindranath, Head, Google for Startup and Dr.N.Jegatheesan, TN Chamber president along with Mr.J.K.Muthu, chairman, Digitall forum, were among those who had addressed a large gathering of young participants from various educational institutions.

PRODUCTIVE DISCIPLINE EVERYDAY:

“What is important in everyday life is productive discipline and it is the key for your success. To live well in life is the best gift that you can give to your parents. I studied in Tamil medium in a government school, I learnt English later and I visited 52 countries on important assignments. So, always be self motivated and have productive discipline for the sake of your own success,” Rev.Fr.Jegath Gaspar Raj has said in his chief guest address in Madurai today while speaking at the inauguration of first session on ‘how to transform and industry expectations for new age’.

Tamil Nadu Chamber president Dr.N.Jegatheesan had stressed on the importance of soft skills for school and college students and how the SHARP Forum of the chamber has been relentlessly working to equip youngsters with sharp skills for success.

Mrs.S.Kaverikani, chairman, SHARP Forum and Mr.U.Sankar Ganesh, forum vice-chairman, have explained that the launch of orientation program SHARP 2.0 is to shape and sharpen young minds through a structured student development initiative that connects academic institutions with the industry.

“SHARP 2.0 from Tamil Nadu Chamber in Madurai is designed as a 9-month transformation journey with more than 72 hours of corporate exposure, industry immersion and career readiness for students of engineering/arts and science colleges. We want to create a new age workforce. SHARP 2.0 focuses on soft skills, life skills industry visits etc while simultaneously giving exposure to Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation,” Mrs.S.Kaverikani, Chairman-Sharp, has said in a press statement at the inaugural session in Madurai today-March 13th 2026.
