‘Save to be Saved’ is the message from Madurai for water, food, fuel & electricity at TN Chamber summit

MADURAI: A fervent appeal has been made from Madurai today to the younger generation to be as proactive voices for protecting the four vital natural resources- water, fuel, electricity and food.

The ‘Save to be Saved’ forum of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry had conducted its annual summit here on February 17th 2026 with participation of students from various schools and colleges.

Mr.V.Neethi Mohan, chairman of YES and All Forum Mentor of TN Chamber, has given a captivating call by saying that one student can influence one family and one family can influence one street and one street can influence the entire locality.

“This summit by ‘Save to be Saved’ is to educate people about the importance of our scarce resources and how to stop wasting them. We should not waste food at home, the same with electricity etc. Out of total 800 crores population in the world, 10 per cent of them which is 80 crores people go to bed with hunger. So, don’t waste food in your plate. It must become a practice. The same is with electricity and petrol,” he stressed.

Mr.Neethi Mohan has said that change begins with one responsible person and the students who attended the summit in Madurai must be ambassadors of that great cause because people cannot live without water in future if we dont protect water sources today.

Mr.J.Sathish, Trustee of Coimbatore-based ‘Siruthuli’ was invited as chief guest for the summit and he emphasized on how small things can give a big impact for our society.

Mr.V.Dhayalan, chairman, Save to be Saved’ had welcomed te gathering and urged students to be like warriors to save our resources. Competitions on nature protection theme were conducted in 30 schools and prizes were distirbuted to students as a part of this summit.

The event organsier of the summit was Madurai Sivakasi Nadars Pioneer Meenakshi Women’s College at Poovanthi and among those who were present at the inaugural session include college principal Ms.Sudhamani and the office-bearers of ‘Save to be Saved’ forum.
