MADURAI: Corporation Commissioner Ms.Chitra Vijayan IAS had today inspected the new paver block pathway works being carried out for ‘Thiruparankundram temple girivalam’ keeping in mind the requirements of devotees.
On February 11th 2026, she had personally carried out inspection on the progress of works for the girivalam at Thiruparankundram which is situated in ward 97 in zone 5 where new paver block pathway road is being laid now, according to a press release from the Madurai Corporation here today.
“At Arulmigu Subrahmaniasamy Temple hillock in Thiruparankundram in Madurai, new paver block pathway works for girivalam are being carried out presently for 7,400 sq metres at an estimated cost of Rs.2 crores from Capital Grant Fund. So far, 3,800 sq mts work has been completed and paver block pathway stretch was done. The Madurai Corporation Commssioner had instructed the concerned officials to expedite the paver block works and complete soon,” the press release said.
Corporation Chief Engineer Mr.Babu, executive engineer Mrs.Packialakshmi and other engineering staff were among those present during the inspection of Thiruparankundram girivalam works in Madurai on February 11th 2026, the corporation press release added.
