For ‘Thai Amavasai’, Nellai Balu’s Trust distributes food to Teppakulam temple devotees in Madurai

MADURAI: Social worker and hunger healer Mr.Nellai Balu’s voluntary service organization ‘Maduraiyin Atchaya Paathiram Trust’ had distributed food to devotees who thronged the famous Muktheeswarar Temple at Teppakulam in Madurai for ‘Thai Amavasai’ yesterday.

Mr.S.V.Suraj Sundara Shankar, managing partner of S.V.S.Foods Pvt Ltd and Mr.Nellai Balu handed over food packets to devotees who came to the temple on January 18th 2026 for ‘Thai Amavasai’ which is an important day for the Hindus to peform rituals to their ancestors and get blessings by remembering them.

“For the orphans, poor, deprived roadside dwellers and needy people in Madurai, our Trust has been providing free food during lunch time for the past five years and so far our work had helped feeding six lakh people in last five years in Madurai,” Mr.Nellai Balu has said and added that his life has been particularly dedicated to feed the hungry people because food is the daily basic requirement for everybody’s life.

“Maduraiyin Atchaya Paathiram Trust is on a mission of ‘Anna Dhaanam’ for the needy people in Madurai. Completing five years of this hunger help is satisfactory for us and we are entering into sixth year. My work will continue in the same manner with the support of God and those who are helping us in this noble work,” Trust founder Mr.Nellai Balu had emphasized.
