
MADURAI: Describing the Indian Constitution as the best creation that is protecting the unity, justice and fundamental rights of the people, High Court advocate Mr.K.Samidurai has today advocated that it must be introduced from school level so that children will realize its importance for the country from their young age itself.
“We pay our tributes to the architect of India’s Constitution B.R.Ambedkar and all those who are involved in drafting it. Ambedkar has said that it will hold the country together both during peace times and war times. It is true because the premise of India lies in the Preamble of our Constitution and our judiciary is playing a vital role for its implementation in letter and spirit,” Mr.K.Samidurai has said while speaking at the National Constitution Day celebration at Kalaignar Centenary Library in Madurai today-November 26th 2025.
THE PREAMBLE PROTECTS INDIA:
Stating that the basic structure of the Premable of the Constitution which begins with ‘We the people of India…’ cannot be touched by anybody, the High Court advocate has stressed that it is the guiding mantra of India and the Constitution gives us the fabric of secularism, social dignity, justice, freedom of speech and expression, right to equality, fundamental rights, Directive Principles of State Policy and dignity of every citizen in India.
“Our Constitution was written by those great people at the time of our country’s Independence. It has 1,45,000 words and the makers of our Constitution took every apsect into consideration while drafting it after over two years of extensive debates while drafting it. It must be our collective effert to abide by this great creation,” advocate Mr.K.Samidurai who is also the State president of Indian Association of Lawyers, has said.
He spoke about various articles of the Indian Constiution especially Article 14 (Right to Equality), Article 19 (Freedom of Speech and Expression), Article 25, Articles 36 to 45 and Article 32 etcand he also emphasized the importance of Fundamental Duties of people.
“The RTI Act and Right to Education besides POCSO Act etc became possible only due to the visionary base of our Constitution. We must always remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters and in Madurai we must remember great persons like Mayandi Bharathi. It is our duty to abide by the Constitution and ofcourse we have the judiciary to ensure that it is followed by all those in power,” Mr.K.Samidurai has added.
V.Dinesh Kumar, Chief Librarian, Kalaignar Centenary Library (KCL)-Madurai, Mr.V.Santhanakrishnan, Deputy Chief Librarian-KCL and Ms.K.Sivakamasundari, assistant libarian and Information Officer, were among those who were present along with a sizable gathering of general public, library visitors, lawyers and students.
