Railway to appoint station booking agents at 25 railway stations in Madurai Division for unreserved tickets; Invites applications from eligible candidates

MADURAI: The Southern Railway’s Madurai Division is going to appoint station booking agents at 25 railway stations to enhance passenger convenience while buying unreserved tickets in trains.

Duties of these station booking agents will be to ensure issue of unreserved tickets at railway stations in the division and they are permitted to sell all types of non-concessional unreserved tickets through UTS (unreserved ticketing system), including platform tickets and season tickets via cash and digital payment modes besides renewal of season tickets in trains.

The railway stations in Madurai Division where Station Booking Agents will be appointed are- Kudalnagar, Samayanallur and Vadipatti in Madurai district, Vadamadurai-Tamaraipadi and Ayyalur in Dindigul district, Kumaramangalam, Kalpattichatram, Kolatur, Pungudi and Vaiyampatti in Tiruchi district, and the other districts include Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli districts, according to a press release received from Madurai Division yesterday.

Applicants must be a resident of local district in which the railway station is located and the minimum educational qualification is 10th Std pass with minimum age of 18 years. Application forms are available in the tender section of Southern Railway Madurai Division in the official website www.sr.indianrailways.gov.in and the const of application is Rs.1,120/-, and more information about payment mode with earnest money deposit details can be had by visiting the Southern Railway website or contact the office of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Madurai Division at railway junction in Madurai.
