
CHENNAI: A medical team from Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital’s Siruseri branch in Chennai had created awareness about how to protect kidneys through a nephrology health talk and CPR training for the employees of Signals and Systems (India) Pvt Ltd (SANDS) in Siruseri here on June 21st 2025.
This event was a health preparedness session for the kidney health and consultant nephrologist Dr.Hema Malathi Aravindkumar spoke about the importance of kidneys in a human body and how to identify the early signs of a kidney disease, lifestyle modification for prevention and the common myths surrounding nephrological health.
“She had referred to the kidneys as silent killers if their functioning deteriorates and since there are no clear symptoms, it is important to put our focus on regular screening and healthy habits,” Dr.Hema Aravind has said while signalling the kidney issues.
After the kidney talk, there was also a CPR awareness training (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) by emergency medicine specialist Dr.Ailwin Jerald and Dr.Naveen along with a team of trained nurses from Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital in Chennai, according to a press release on June 21st 2025. Totally, eight team members had conducted hands-on CPR demonstration about life-saving skills.
Dr.L.R.Rajagopal, CEO, SANDS-Chennai, had thanked the hospital for its community health awareness events for safer lives, the press release added.
