Tamil Nadu Governor turns himself as Yoga trainer in Madurai; Gives local to global health message from Velammal School campus for 10,000 students

MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi had today turned into a yoga instructor and positioned himself to guide young school students about the benefits of yoga exercises daily at the International Yoga Day celebration session held at Velammal Global School Ground in Madurai today morning-June 21st 2025.

Nearly 10,000 youngsters had participated in the yoga event here today at Velammal Ground where he had emphasized that yoga was started from Tamil Nadu and thanks to yogi Patanjali who gave Yoga to India.

“This is the 11th International Yoga Day. In 2015, our country Bharat gave yoga as a gift to the world and the number of yoga participants is increasing now. Yoga is universal. June 21st as yoga day was chosen because the Sun god will be of maximum duration on this day and hence the advice of India was accepted by the United Nations. So, June 21st was declared as International Day of Yoga after the UN had passed it with support of maximum number of countries. Yoga is a precious gift from India to the world. Thanks to ‘Rishi guru’ Patanjali who gave us Yoga…and our gratitude today to him. Yoga has to be a part of your life daily,” the Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi has said while addressing the participants and students at Velammal Global School in Anuppanadi in Madurai today-June 21st 2025.

Mr.M.V.Muthuramalingam, Chairman, Velammal Educational Trust and staff of Velammal schools in Madurai were among those who had participated in the yoga day event here today.
