How to start agri business up to Rs.20 lakhs?: CED (Tamil Nadu) in Madurai invites applications for free residential training to eligible candidates under Govt scheme (FULL DETAILS)

MADURAI: The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (Tamil Nadu) in Madurai has invited applications from eligible candidates for a 45-day free residential programme that will help agriculture candidates to establish agri ventures up to the tune of Rs.20 lakhs with a subsidy of 36 to 44 per cent from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

CED (Tamil Nadu) at Mattuthavani Flower Market Complex in Madurai is the nodal training centre to offer free training under the Agri-Clinic and Agri-Business Centres Scheme of Ministry of Agriculture of Government of India. The focus of this scheme is to promote agri entrepreneurship, and after the training the 45 days, candidates have to submit their projects for obtaining bank loan for establishing agriculture ventures and loan will be provided after project proposal scrutiny.

ELIGIBILITY FOR TRAINING:

The age eligibility is 21 to 60 years and graduates in agriculture and allied subjects like horticulture, sericulture, dairy, animal husbandry, fisheries, home/community sciences, biotechnology, agricultural engineering, forestry, food technology, food nutrition and dietetics etc from State or Central agricultural universities and graduates in environmental science, botany, zoology and chemistry recognized by ICAR / UGC are eligible to apply.

Degree in agriculture and allied subjects offered by other agencies will also be considered subject to approval of Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India on recommendation of the State government or Diploma in Agriculture with at least 50 per cent marks, according to a press release.

The business opportunities include poultry farming, mushroom farming, beekeeping, goat and sheep rearing, fish farms, fruits-vegetables cultivation and preservation, storage and warehousing, cold storage, agri inpur center, organic farming, agro service centre including farm machinery and agricultural drones, the press release had informed.
