MADURAI: The importance of getting up early in the morning and its influence for a healthy body was stressed at the 13th convocation of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) University in Tirupati yesterday.
Prof.Dr.M.Hanumantha Rao, Executive Director and CEO, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-Madurai, who delivered the convocation address had cited the example of legendary NTR who used to wake up at 3 am everyday and get on to the schedule while others were sleeping.
“To reduce your stress, get up early in the morning and go for some physical exercise. That is the best gift you can give to your body. Many achievers used to wake up very early from the bed and a fit example is N.T.Rama Rao because if you read his biography it tells that NTR wakes up at 3 am daily and kept himself busy till night with his shootings and other programs. For you 3 am will be too early, but at least wake up by 6 am. It reduces your stress if you keep active,” the Madurai AIIMS chief has advised the young doctors who passed out of SVIMS University and received their degrees on June 11th 2025.
Dr.Hanumantha Rao, who served in SVIMS for 27 years before becoming the Director of Madurai AIIMS, has said that SVIMS is a prestigious medical university and it is a homecoming for him to attend the convocation as chief guest.
“The progress of SVIMS is amazing and I must congratulate the Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.R.V.Kumar and his team who are doing a great work from Tirupati. For the young doctors and paramedical graduates who got their license today to practice, my suggestion for success is to be lifelong learners. Go out and attend medical conferences and workshops. Doctors are considered as Gods and please try to maintain that in the society,” he stressed.
J.Syamala Rao, Executive Officer, TTD-Tirupati, has said that SVIMS is a modern temple of healing and it is doing tremendous work in the field of medicine. Prof.Dr.R.V.Kumar, Director cum Vice-Chancellor, SVIMS, had presented the 2023-24 annual report.
B.R.Naidu, Chairman, TTD Board of Trustees and governing council members of SVIMS along with Academic Council and Senate members were among those present at the 13th convocation ceremony held in Tirupati on June 11th 2025.
