
MADURAI: A 10-day combined annual training camp cum Group Thal Sainik Camp of National Cadet Corps (NCC) was conducted from May 21st to May 30th 2025 at NCC Training Academy in Idayapatti near Madurai.
The camp was organized by the 2 TN Girls Battalion NCC-Madurai under the command of the first Indian army woman officer Lt.Col.Cathrine Nirmala and totally 500 cadets from various schools and colleges had participated in this training camp, according to a press release here yesterday.
Cadets got a through orientation about NCC activities including fostering of leadership, discipline, teamwork, military drills, map reading, weapon training, firing exercises, physical fitness sessions, aerobics, yoga, national integration, time management, stress management and the overall personality development of the NCC cadets. There were also a range of sports events for the cadets who took part in the training camp besides cultural programmes to display their talents.
On May 29th 2025, NCC Group Commander Col V.K.S.Chauhan of Madurai Group Headquarters had visited the camp and addressed the cadets. He distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions like firing and drill exercises, the press release said.
