MADURAI: Former Vice-Chancellor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Dr.A.K.Kumaraguru has today sent a whatsapp complaint to the Madurai Corporation informing that water is going waste in Koodal Nagar area in the city in houses that are not occupied.
“I understand that all houses in Koodal Nagar area, Anaiyur … Karumariamman Koil Street / Ward 2 in Madurai Corporation have been provided with water pipelines with blue colour PVC pipes to supply fresh water to individual houses in this area. I am a resident of Koodal Nagar and my house comes in Ward 2 Anaiyur in Madurai. I would like to bring to the attention of Madurai Corporation authorities that many houses which are either not occupied or not fitted with meter boxes have been left with open water supply pipes. Through these open pipes, large quantity of water is getting wasted everyday in this Koodal Nagar locality. If these open pipes can be kept closed with temporary caps, our precious water can be saved. I urge the Corporation authorities to set right the problem. If it is being done for any testing purpose, then atleast please arrange to make some announcement to all residents in our area,” Dr.A.K.Kumaraguru has said in his whatsapp alert to Madurai Corporation on May 18th 2025.
