MADURAI: Election for various posts of Madurai Kamaraj University Faculty Association (MUFA) here was conducted on March 20th 2025 and candidates have been declared elected by the Returning Officers who conducted the election.
Dr.T.Arokiadoss, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics-DDE, was elected as president while Dr.G.Jayachandran, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematical Economics, got elected as vice-president.
Dr.C.Muniyandi, assistant professor, Department of Econometrics, will be the general secretary and Dr.P.Suresh, assistant professor, Department of Natural Products Chemistry, is the joint secretary. The treasurer of MUFA will be Dr.V.Shanmugaiah, assistant professor, Department of Microbial Technology and Dr.R.Dhayalakrishnan, assistant professor, Department of English-DDE, will be the joint treasurer, according to the election results statement released yesterday evening.
The 13 Executive Committee members of MUFA for 2025-27 are- Dr.N.Sivakumar, Dr.K.Uma, Dr.T.Jebasingh, Dr.B.Kannan, Dr.M.Rajan, Dr.C.Amudha, Dr.T.Githesh, Dr.D.Aravind, Dr.P.Gopal, Dr.A.Mahalingam, Dr.N.Perumal, Dr.V.Loganathan and Dr.K.Sadasivam.
Election for new office-bearers of MUFA was conducted by Returning Officers Dr.D.Ramakrishnan, Dr.M.Sivakumar and Dr.R.Meenakshi, the information bulletin of election result has said.
This election was supposed to have taken place much earlier but got delayed due to some objections and complaints received from certain quarters after the election notification was issued a few months back, sources added.
