
CHENNAI: The AMET University in Chennai had today- on August 21st 2024- contributed Rs.10 lakhs to the Wayanad Flood Disaster Relief Fund in Kerala.
A Demand Draft of Rs.10 lakhs was handed over to Kerala Chief Minister Mr.Pinarayi Vijayan by AMET University Pro-Chancellor (Academics) Col.Dr.G.Thiruvasagam and university Vice-Chancellor Dr.V.Rajendran today, a press release from the university has informed.
It informed that 400 employees of the university donated their one day salary towards the Wayanad Flood Disaster Relief Fund and students also contributed their savings to the recent Wayanad landslide victims in Kerala.
“The Kerala Chief Minister appreciated AMET University in Chennai, its management and employees for their earnest support to affected people of Wayanad in Kerala,” the press note said.
