MADURAI: The Department of English of Directorate of Distance Education of Madurai Kamaraj University here has today organized a one-day international webinar on ‘Augmenting English Languaging’ among the distance learners – on 21st July 2020 -for students of distance education. Prof. J.Vijayadurai, Director, Directorate of Distance of Education, welcomed the participants while Prof. M.Krishnan, Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University, inaugurated the webinar and stressed the importance of English communication.
Prof. T.Muthukrishnan, Former Professor and Head, Department of
Linguistics, Bharathiar University, spoke on the significance of English language learning.
Dr.R.Dhayalakrishnan, Head, Department of English, DDE-MKU. highlighted the theme of this webinar, according to a press release received from MKU here today.
Resource person Dr. S.Franklin Thambi Jose, Senior Lecturer,
Department of Languages and Communication, Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia. had handled the first technical session on ‘Emerging Trends in English Language Teaching’. Dr. P. Prem Chandar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Annamalai University, Chidambaram delivered a talk on ‘Enhancing Interpersonal and Communication Skills’. Dr.G.Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Professor of English, DDE, MKU,
proposed a vote of thanks. The doubts raised by DDE students were clarified by resource persons, the MKU press release added.
