MADURAI: Cooperation Minister Mr.Sellur K.Raju had personally swUng into action in Madurai city on1st April 2020 along with several Corporation authorities and sanitarY workers to carry out Coronavirus prevention activities here.
At Thathaneri area in the city, the Minister had sprayed disinfectants and germ killing chemicals along the streets and residential areas thereby enthusing the local people also to take safety precautions during this Corona crisis period.
Five vehicles of Madurai Corporation and three vans belonging to Fire Service department have been pressed into service to spray disinfectants and germ killing powder. Hand sprayers also are being extensively used to cover every lane and bylane in that area.
Facemasks and virus protection gear were provided to sanitayr workers involved in Corona control measures. Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan, Assistant City Health Officer Vinodh Raja, City Engineer Mr.Arasu and Asisstant Commissioner in-charge Mr.Sekhar were among those who took part in the mass cleaning and sanitising drive at Thathaneri here on 1st April 2020.
