MADURAI: Ten persons from various places in Madurai were taken to Corona isolation ward at Austinpatti near here last night- on 31st March 2020.
These persons from Madurai district had attended the Tablighi Islamic Conference in New Delhi and returned to Madurai.
Health Department officials had identified these persons with the help of police and as a precautionary measure shifted /admitted them to the exclusive corona virus isolation ward at Thoppur-Austinpatti near Madurai where they were put under quarantine. Medical tests are being done by doctors and their samples were taken to the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) here
The quarantined persons belong to Nagamalai Pudukottai, Elumalai and Sedapatti near Madurai. Police have stepped up searching for several other persons who attended the Delhi conference but did not come forward voluntarily for self isolation despite Government instructions.
From Tamil Nadu, more than 1,000 persons had attended the Islamic conference in Delhi last month- March 2020.
