4,380 tonnes of sugar comes in railway freight train

MADURAI: Due to corona virus pandemic, the Indian Railways has suspended the operations of passenger train services across the country till 14th April 2020.

Currently, Indian Railways is operating only freight trains across the country to ensure availability of essential commodities through its uninterrupted freight services.

Sugar contains 27 wagons, 1,713 tonnes, 34,125 bags received from Ugar Khurd (Karnataka) were unloaded at Virudhunagar goods shed on 30th March 2020 and sugar contains 42 wagons, 2,667 tonnes, 53,130 bags were unloaded today- 31st March 2020 at Milavitan goods shed, a press release from Southern Railway Madurai PRO, informed here today.
