IF LOTUS BLOOMS, INDIA GROWS…..

There is a popular saying as “AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME”. The launch of an exclusive website in English from Madurai for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – LOTUS TIMES – is one such idea.

We are all aware that the BJP is gradually gaining ground or even surging ahead in Tamil Nadu’s political space. The party’s political, ideological and philosophical penetration in this southern State has been remarkable. Even though the respectability index of BJP in Tamil Nadu is very high, winning in elections became a challenge due to money and muscle power of Dravidian parties.

There is no doubt that if lotus blooms India grows. Holding the party’s majestic symbol – lotus flower – in hand,  this is the spirit with which lakhs and lakhs of BJP workers, cadres and leaders have been toiling day in and day out across the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for the party’s electoral victory.

And, certainly Tamil Nadu is an important State for the BJP. To empower the party cadre intellectually with ideas and information, we from Madurai decided to reach out with “Lotus Times”. It will connect Tamil Nadu BJP with the rest of India and the world.

The political developments and dynamics of Tamil Nadu, programmes and events undertaken by the BJP in this State, the commitment with which our field level cadres have been working will be prominently highlighted in this website.

LOTUS TIMES is a forum of the people, for the people and by the people. It will be a journalistic endeavour to uncover the truth and take the facts to people in black and white.

Ideas, ideals and issues of India will be voiced from Madurai and it is open for participation by like-minded persons and intellectuals. The prominent “Makkal Sevai Mayyam” in Madurai which is an apolitical people service centre working as an extension service activity of the BJP will be the banner for us.

Certainly, there can be no better year than 2017 which is being grandly celebrated as the centenary year of great nationalist Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya all over the country.
