Madurai Poonga Murugan temple ‘Hundi’ counting done today, Rs.5.3 lakhs in hundis


MADURAI: The counting of contributions made by devotees in the temple ‘hundi’ of Arulmigu Sri Poonga Murugan Temple near Rajaji Park-Gandhi Museum in Madurai was done today under the overall supervision of Madurai Corporation Commissioner Dr.K.P.Karthikeyan. Totally, Rs.5.3 lakhs was there in the hundis of this temple and the counting was done by temple staff, volunteers, social workers and corporation staff today – on 20th September 2021.

The temple ‘hundis’ of Sri Poonga Murugan Temple in Madurai were opened in the presence of senior corporation officials. Madurai Corporation Commissioner is Special Officer of this temple. Among those officials present during the ‘hundi’ counting include Corporation assistant commissioner (revenue) Mr.Rangarajan, HR&CE assistant commissioner Mr.Ramasamy, temple manager-Beshkar Mr.Kumaresan, Mr.Meenakshisundaram, corporation PRO Mr.Maheswaran and others.
