TN Chamber’s plea to Commerce Ministry on container shortage and quick cargo exports


MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry had made an important appeal from Madurai today urging the Union Ministry of Commerce and Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s government to take immediate steps for solving the container shortage problem and steps to expedite speedy exports.

In a press statement issued here on 11th September 2021, TN Chamber president Mr.N.Jegatheesan has said that “the present crisis of container shortage and abnormal freight rates have not only led to delays in shipments but also affected the export trade very much. Hence, the TN Chamber requests the Union Commerce and Industry Ministry to intervene in this matter and take immediate steps to enable the exporters to export their cargo without any difficulty,”


Tamil Nadu Chamber has welcomed the announcement made by Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry to release Rs.56,027 crores pending tax refunds of exporters under different export incentive schemes to boost exports. “Small exporters in particular will benefit a lot in MSME category. On behalf of our Tamil Nadu Chamber and exporters in southern Tamil Nadu, we welcome the Union Government’s announcement. It will be a great relief to exporters, will have a multiplier effect and spur employment generation,” TN Chamber president Mr.N.Jegatheesan has said in the press statement issued in Madurai today- 11th September 2021.
