Nirmala Sitharaman in Madurai; TN Foodgrains Merchants Association submits memorandum (FULL LIST)

In Madurai on 11th September 2021.

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association has submitted a memorandum to the Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman in Madurai today- on 11th September 2021- making several requests regarding their sector. Mr.S.P.Jeyapragasam, president, TN Foodgrains Merchants Association, has issued a press release mentioning their suggestions and recommendations made to the Union Finance Minister in Madurai on 11th September 2021.

Besides requesting her for issues regarding GST, the association has requested her to allow import of peas which is a main essential food item for the people of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, to remove all the shortcomings in the Food Safety and Standards Act, to announce and develop a fourth railway terminal at Salt Cotaurs in Chennai, to develop underpass runway facility at Madurai airport and to develop heavy industrial corridor between Madurai-Tuticorin sector as announced by the Central Government.
