MADURAI: All the top administrative posts of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai are vacant now and waiting for full-time appointees. The latest appointment of MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.M.Krishnan on 23rd July 2021 as new VC of Central University of Tamil Nadu at Tiruvarur has left the MKU Vice-Chancellor post also vacant. University sources told ‘Lotus Times’ website today on 24th July 2021 Saturday that this is a peculiar situation in MKU because the university now needs a full-time Vice-Chancellor, full-time Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Dean (CDC), Director of Distance Education, Additional Controller, academic staff college and EMRC full-time officials etc. The incumbent Vice-Chancellor of MKU Prof.M.Krishnan is likely to assume charge at Tiruvarur as Central University VC on coming Monday as he is now waiting for the appointment of Tamil Nadu Governor-Chancellor’s appointment before he can formally proceed to Tiruvarur from Madurai.
