Railway’s COVID awareness skits and posters in stations

MADURAI: Special trains are introduced gradually after the drop in COVID cases in the State with due precautions. In order to prevent the spread of COVID, rail coaches and toilets are being disinfected at regular intervals. In AC coaches, besides removal of cloth screens and banning the supply of bed sheets and pillows, frequency of clean air circulation from outside is enhanced. Passengers are requested to report one hour before the departure of the train to have the thermal screen scanning, a press release from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway has said today- on 21st October 2020.

As per the instructions of  Divisional Railway Manager Mr.V.R.Lenin, Mr. V.Prasanna, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Mr. Anbarasu, Divisional Security Commissioner, have made all out arrangements to propagate the COVID precautions among the travelling public. Wall posters depicting the prevention measures such as wearing mask, cleaning hands with soap and maintaining social distancing have been displayed at all important stations. Further, such precautionary measures are disseminated through CCTV and Public address system.  In a novel initiative, a RPF team staged skits at Madurai, Dindigul, Virudunagar, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Tenkasi and Rameswaram Railway stations to imprint these measures in the minds of travelling public.
