Madurai Dist Collector inspects Palami Enclave


MADURAI: Continuing with the district administration’s war-footing efforts to contain Coronavirus and step up preventive measures, Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay today – 4th April 2020- carried out inspection in Palami Enclave premises at Narayanapuram in Madurai city.

He monitored the spraying and sprinkling of disinfectants in Palami Enclave. The District Collector interacted with residents there and stressed the importance of social distancing, staying at home and avoiding crowds in public places in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to a press release from Madurai Corporation today.

The District Collector had informed that vegetable shops were temporarily shifted and opened at 35 places in the city. At Maattuthavani, only wholesale vegetable sales are taking place while the retail shops were shifted to school and college playgrounds.

Also, 100 mobile vegetable vans are on rounds across the city to sell vegetables and fruits. From areas where 15 Corona positive cases were reported, the district administration has taken steps for constant monitoring through health department teams and corporation authorities.

Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan had accompanied the Madurai District Collector during his inspection at various places today in the city. Officials had visited Wakf Board College, Surveyor Colony 120-feet Road etc.

Among those who were present during the inspection include Assistant Commissioner Mr.Premkumar, Assistant Executive Engineer Mr.Manoharan, Health Officer Mr.Raj Kannan, PRO Mr.Chithravel and others.
