MADURAI: If it is pongal festival, the right to be there is Madurai to watch the famous ‘Jallikattu’ where hundreds of bulls and bull tamers will entertain thousands of people through this traditional native sport.
On January 15th, the Madurai Avaniapuram jallikattu is taking place and since today morning the excitement is high in Avaniapuram in Madurai as 700 bulls are tqking part in heavily barricaded spot.
On January 16th 2020, the Palamedu jallikattu takes place tomorrow. And, the most important Alanganallur jallikattu in Madurai district will be on January 17th 2020.
Madurai district Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay has given a call to villagers, bull owners, participants and authorities to ensure that this year’s Jallikattu events are ‘INCIDENT FREE-INJURY FREE’.
TODAY AT AVANIAPURAM:
Today’s Avaniapuram jallikattu is taking place under the supervision of retired judge Manickam as per the directions of Madras High Court Madurai Bench Medical teams, veterinary doctors and first aid facility is in place.
