MADURAI: The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court has quashed defamation case filed against BJP leader Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan after the party’s advocates had successfully argued that it was a false allegation.

Mr.S.Venkatesan, Madurai MP representing CPI(M), had lodged a complaint alleging that the BJP leader made a defamatory speech during the election campaign time early this year. The case was however quashed by the High Court Madurai Bench on 31st October 2019.

“Kudos to our BJP advocates – Mr.R.Senthil Kumar, Mr.D.M.Balakrishnan, Mr.S.Jayasingh and Mr.S.U.Sampath Kumar for the successful order they got from the Honourable High Bench Madurai. They proved in the court that there was nothing defamatory in my election speech,” Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan told ‘Lotustimes’ news website today.
