MADURAI: “Saint Tiruvalluvar is a great unifier……He stands as a symbol of unity and messenger of equality….Unless we know Thirukkural, how can we understand India….”?

These were the passionate words of ‘Tamil’ Tarun Vijay, a former Rajya Sabha MP and now BJP National Executive Member who hails from Uttarakhand, during his interview to the “Lotus Times” website in Madurai on November 1st 2017 (Wednesday).

His study about Tamil Nadu’s history and culture made him a lover of Tamil language and classic Thirukkural. 
 
“I was born in Uttarakhand. I feel that ‘Tamil Annai’ too had adopted me as a beloved son…. I want to spend maximum time in Tamil Nadu, its villages and be with Dalits and poor families…..Also, I want to speak the great Tamil language fluently,” Mr.Tarun Vijay has said.
 
AT PARTY OFFICE IN MADURAI:
 
 
He visited the BJP’s Madurai Parliament Constituency Office at Bibikulam in Madurai city on November 1st 2017 evening.
Mr.Tarun Vijay appeals to political parties to see language as language only without any parochialism or divide.
 
“I always say that we have to understand South India’s greatness. For the first time, I took efforts to take Tiruvalluvar’s statue across the Vindhyas……I spoke about him inside the Parliament House and I recited Thirukkural……” he said.
 
Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary, Mr.Saseeraman, Madurai city urban district BJP president and party office-bearers welcomed him at the party office in Bibikulam in Madurai.
